This site is dedicated to the memory of Jan Critchley-Salmonson.

Jan was an extremely positive man and his family want to remember his life with positive action of fundraising to find out more about lung fibrosis. Jan was a family man with a wife, Jenny and their two grown up daughters - Anne-Marie, married to Andy with three children Thomas, Isabella and Georgiana, and his other daughter Katherine who is married to Duncan. Jan lived in Somerset but had through his long career in the wine trade lived in France and the South East of England. Jan joined the wine trade at the age of 18 when he joined Harveys of Bristol. He gained his Institute of Masters of Wine qualification, before moving to Margaux with his young family. On his return to England in the late 1970's he moved to Buckinghamshire and continued his life in the trade. He remained working in the wine trade throughout his life. Jan enjoyed life to the full including playing a range of sports - cricket, rugby, tennis and sailing and loved nothing better than pottering in his vegetable garden and making his cider. He sadly died of lung fibrosis in February 2009.
